Sony launches PlayStation Vita in UK
UK gamers can now purchase the PS Vita for as little as £229.99.

Sony's long-awaited handheld console the PlayStation Vita is now available in the UK, having launched at retailers across the country on Wednesday (February 22nd 2012).

The device has finally hit the market in Britain, having been unveiled almost nine months ago at the E3 2011 expo in Los Angeles and enjoying a period of exclusivity in Japan. Prices for the PS Vita start at £229.99.

To mark the launch, Sony revealed that several titles - including MotorStorm RC, Hustle Kings and Top Darts - can be purchased from the PlayStation Store throughout Europe and played on both the PS3 and the PS Vita, all for one price.

Among the other titles that are currently available for the PS Vita are WipEout 2048, Escape Plan, Unit 13, Everybody's Golf and Reality Fighters.

Michael Denny, senior vice president of worldwide studios Europe at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, described this as "one of the best launch line-ups of any games console ever launched".
