0% APR representative on car insurance offered by Direct Line
Insurer Direct Line has introduced a new promotion on its motor coverage.

Direct Line has announced it is offering zero per cent APR representative on all car insurance quotes for the next three weeks.

The promotion, which is set to run until November 20th 2011, will allow the quotes to remain valid for three months, meaning prospective customers can take advantage of the savings at any point over the Christmas and new year period.

It is available in addition to the financial services firm's current headline offer, in which motorists can enjoy a year's car insurance for the price of ten months.

The news is likely to be welcomed by drivers in the market for a new policy, after the AA revealed the average premium fell by just £2 in the three months to September 30th to £921.

In the 12 months after March 2010, the average annual car insurance price had risen by more than 40 per cent.

"The past two years have seen the biggest ever rises in premiums as insurers struggled to close a widening gap between premium income and claims costs," said Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance.
