New Call of Duty to be unveiled in May
The new Call of Duty title is set to be unveiled next month.

The latest installation in the hugely popular Call of Duty videogame series is set to be unveiled at the start of next month.

A message on the franchise's official website explains that the new title, expected to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, will be revealed to the world on May 1st 2012.

The news comes just a matter of days after a "retail source" leaked a poster to tech news site Kotaku, indicating that a briefing on Black Ops 2 could take place on May 2nd.

It was pointed out at the time that the date was more likely to refer to the unveiling rather than the launch of the new title, as Call of Duty games have traditionally been released later in the year to cash in on the holiday period.

Publisher Activision will no doubt hope the game is as successful as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which surpassed $1 billion (£620 million) in global sales just 16 days after it hit the market.
