Children name most sought-after toys
The TRA's inaugural Kids Choice Awards have seen children name their favourite products.

Hasbro's Bop-It! XT and Mattel's Angry Birds boardgame are among the most sought-after items by children in the run-up to Christmas.

Industry body the Toy Retailers Association (TRA) organised the first Kid's Choice Awards this year, aimed at indentifying the top 12 toys based on a range of issues, including boredom factor, coolness, breakability and fun to play.

Among the other hot products to make the list were the Star Wars Millennium Falcon from Lego, which carries a recommended retail price of £129.99, plus the GX Buggy remote control car from Tomy and Vivid's Fluffling electronic pets.

According to Vivid, each of its Flufflings - available for around £19.99 - has its own unique personality and can be cuddled, stroked, rolled and even bounced.

Gary Grant, chairman of the TRA's Dream Toys selection panel, said: "Parents can rest assured that it's not the most expensive toys that are the most popular, with many of the favourites under £20."
