Samsung has confirmed its eagerly-awaited successor to the Galaxy SII smartphone will be unveiled before the end of June.
The phonemaker revealed the Galaxy SIII will not be shown off at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is due to run from February 27th to March 1st.
Instead, it explained that the device is set to debut at a "separate Samsung-hosted event" at some point during the first half of this year, closer to the commercial launch of the device.
Samsung added it "stays committed to providing the best possible mobile experiences for customers around the world".
Rather than unveiling the next-generation Galaxy S smartphone, the company is expected to announce future additions to its tablet family at MWC 2012.
The news comes shortly after Samsung launched the Galaxy S Advance handset, which will be available in the UK before the end of 2012.
According to the manufacturer, the S Advance will feature a dual-core processor and a "sleek curved design".
