O2 is set to launch Telefonica Digital's new mobile gaming service as part of the Spanish telecoms giant's strategic relationship with EA Mobile.
The deal will allow customers to enjoy popular titles such as The Sims, FIFA and Monopoly on their mobile devices, with O2 subscribers to be offered three months of free access to the service.
Once this promotional period has expired, O2 will introduce special gaming subscription models and other promotions, with the network operator currently examining the best models.
Matthew Key, chairman and chief executive of Telefonica Digital, said: "By making a differentiated play in this most emotive and immersive entertainment medium we are fostering a much deeper connection with our customers."
The global mobile games market will be worth almost £8 billion by 2015, according to industry analyst IHS iSuppli.
EA Mobile's latest games chart shows Tetris is the current bestselling title in the UK, followed by Bejeweled, Worms, Need for Speed Shift and The Sims 3 World Adventures.
