ZTE has unveiled a new low-cost Windows Phone that it expects to be available on contract in the UK for between £10 and £20 per month.
The device, named the ZTE Tania, will feature a 4.3-inch display, a five-megapixel camera and a 1GHz processor.
It is set to launch by the end of March with the support of channel partners Brightpoint, Virgin Media and Go Mobile, as well as a "leading specialist retailer".
ZTE claimed enterprise users and regular consumers will be attracted to the budget-friendly smartphone, which will also feature 4GB of internal storage and the ability to link with a customer's Xbox LIVE account.
Wu Sa, director of mobile device operations at ZTE UK, said: "We're delighted to be working with Microsoft and as a key partner will support ... this exciting new platform with both the ZTE Tania and in the future a growing range of devices."
Recent figures from Gartner show 1.7 million Windows Phones were sold worldwide in the third quarter of 2011.
